Cincinnati Public School - Oyler School Event  -The Al Hampton Mentoring Program is a program developed in honor of Al Hampton, a retired local resident that wanted to do something to help the students of Oyler. He asked if he could mentor/tutor a student. From that point, he told someone, who told someone else, and now there are over 400 total mentors/tutors in the program helping students develop their math and reading skills. The students are in grades K through 6. The mentors are volunteers from local area businesses and neighborhoods that devote 30 minutes per week for each of their students (some of them come more often). Every year, the Director of the program for Oyler School, Mrs. Wanda Neville, hosts a tea party for the students and mentors. It is an event to celebrate the holidays, to celebrate the mentor/student relationship, and to celebrate those mentors that have been with the Hampton Mentoring Program for at least five years. This year (2010), we celebrated two mentors that have been volunteering since 1995 (15 years).

Matco Employee Council Raffle-
The raffle is the fundraiser for our  MATCO Employee Council and is the only fundraiser they have each year.   The council members are consumers who receive services from our agency and are elected by their peers.  The staff and management do not have a voice in the decisions made by this group.  In the past the council has donated money to help victims of Hurrincane Katrina and at times assisted peers with financial needs.
